May 16, 1885 the 700 member Alberta Field Force disembarked and set camp at Victoria. Major General Strange met twice with Cree Chief Pakan and recruited local Mixed Blood scouts. Today this Provincial Historic Site tells the interwoven stories of the Cree, Missionaries, Mixed Blood settlers, Fur Traders, and Eastern European settlers in the time of great change from 1862 to 1922.
